“We hope this partnership program will help improve academic major accreditation at each university,” said Wan Dedi Yudhistira from PT CPI. “The final goal is our participation in empowering the younger workforce in Riau.”

The partnership program aims to improve education quality by increasing the competency of lecturers and students. Aid may include guest lecturers, seminars, field trips, journalistic publications, infrastructure quality improvements, laboratory equipment and libraries. In addition, students and lecturers will have the opportunity to learn more about their field of study overseas in countries such as Korea and Japan.

“We have benefited from PT CPI program activities for years,” said Prof. Syaiful Bahri. “Our institution accreditation improves with each year.”

At Unri, support from PT CPI will be used for National Board of Professional Certification, or Badan Nasional Sertifikasi Profesi (BNSP), Environmental Audit Training; research partnerships; BNSP General K3 Expert Certification for students; HYSYS® software and training; and other training certification programs for students and lecturers.

Meanwhile, Unilak will pursue lecturer quality improvement activities, including joint research with Universiti Malaysia Sarak; S3 education fee aid; multimedia lecture content training; and laboratory development including practicum supporting tools for electric machinery, basic electronics, electric circuits and basic telecommunication.

“We are very thankful for PT CPI’s trust,” said Dr. Junaidi. “This program helps us enhance the quality of lecturers, students and educational institution accreditation in Riau.”
